History & Design at Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace
Located in Sao Paulo, Brazil the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace is also referred to as the Interlagos Circuit. There is a long history of race car driving in this area of Brazil stretching all the way back to the 1940s. The racetrack is built on hilly ground with twists and turns making it physically demanding on the drivers.
The anti-clockwise set up also makes it an unnatural driving experience as the majority of the circuits on the F1 calendar are clockwise. This track requires a huge amount of teamwork and strategy as the cars also tend to break down given the elements at “Interlagos”.
