Wine grapes are grown in some of the most beautiful parts of the world. Similarly, you’ll find many golf courses nestled in breath taking landscapes. Of course we’ve all played our fair share of goat ranches, but hey, sometimes you just don’t want to break the bank on one round of golf.
Shout out to all the “hidden gem” golf courses that are cheap. There’s a reason they are so rare and hard to find.
Just because a bottle of wine is expensive, that doesn’t mean it tastes good or will align with your palate. Whether you shot a 69 or 169, a nice smooth vino and some enjoyable conversation with your playing partners will certainly enhance your post round.

Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon
Caymus ain’t cheap for the average Joe. This is the bottle you break open when you shoot 65 or make a “hole in one” or for some of you out there, break 100. It’s a truly phenomenal wine. The award wining Wagner Family of Wine, based in California, produces a perfect Cabernet year in and year out.
Bread & Butter
Whether you hit butter draws or butter fades on the golf course, you can’t go wrong with this Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a price range of around $15 a bottle and is an incredibly smooth, ripe and bold wine from California.
Ernie Els Wines
Golf legend Ernie Els, also known as “The Big Easy”, owns a fantastic winery based in his home country of South Africa. His company has a wide range of reds and whites to choose from. You might not be able to swing the club like Ernie but you can certainly enjoy his wines.
Bonanza Cabernet Sauvignon
Bonanza is made by Wagner Family Wines, the same family that produces Caymus, “Wink, Wink”. Great news for those that don’t want to pony up their life savings for one bottle of wine. Bonanza is $22 a bottle.
The Family Coppola Wines
“Im going to make him an offer he can’t refuse” might be the most famous quote in the history of film. Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola’s winery produces a wide range of delicious wines at affordable prices. They offer a wine range of reds and whites.
Villa Antinori Red Blend
The Villa Antinori Red Blend, produced in Tuscany Italy where grapes are grown, mature and are harvested from Tuscan estates owned by the Antinori Family. This is the ultimate Italian wine and will cost you less than $20.
Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc
New Zealand’s Golf Commentator and icon Frank Nobilo produces one of the best Sauvignon Blanc’s in the world. It’s refreshing with tropical fruit flavors like pineapple, elderflower, cantaloupe, citrus, and herbal notes. Perfect after a round of golf in a hot climate.
Ed Edmundo Cabernet Sauvignon
This Argentinian cab is the wine version of a “hidden gem”. Trust us when we tell you, this red goes beautifully with a post round steak. It’s $12 and has a 91 point rating from James Suckling. Even if you hacked it around out on the course, you can still enjoy this incredibly smooth, dark and bold wine with notes of plum and blueberries.
