Design and History at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez
Located in the Magdalena Mixhuca public park in Mexico City, the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez original design comes from a thesis written by student Oscar Fernandez in 1953. That must have been a great University thesis! The racetrack underwent significant renovations by Hermann Tilke in 2015.
Turn 17 is an extremely fast corner called the “Peraltada” and iconic esses between turns 7 and 13. At turn 13, the finish is surrounded by huge grandstands called the Foro Sol. There’s nothing like the Foro Sol anywhere else in Formula 1.
