Mexico City is the host of the Mexican Grand Prix at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The city often flies under the radar as much of the tourism in country is located on the coast at the many luxury beach resorts.

Design and History at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez

Located in the Magdalena Mixhuca public park in Mexico City, the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez original design comes from a thesis written by student Oscar Fernandez in 1953. That must have been a great University thesis! The racetrack underwent significant renovations by Hermann Tilke in 2015.

Turn 17 is an extremely fast corner called the “Peraltada” and iconic esses between turns 7 and 13. At turn 13, the finish is surrounded by huge grandstands called the Foro Sol. There’s nothing like the Foro Sol anywhere else in Formula 1.
