If you’re a “city slicker” you probably have no idea what the “Big Five” in South Africa means…

It refers to the Big Five game animals in Africa: The Lion, Leopard, Rhinoceros, Elephant and Cape Buffalo. Tour operators have taken over the term for the top wild life you must see on an African safari.

When it comes to travel in South Africa, animals aren’t the only big time attraction. Below are “The Big Five” must play golf courses in South Africa:

Fancourt is South Africa’s number one links golf course and is known to be one of Gary Player’s greatest designs. It’s a true test of golf and by no means for the faint of heart. At 7,600 yards you better bring your long game off the tee. This course is one you will want to play over and over again. Thirty-six holes could be on the itinerary.
