Mugello, owned by Ferrari, is the new kid on the block of F1 venues. Formula 1 drivers who have tested the circuit are already giving it rave reviews.

Below is the ultimate travel guide for the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello and what you should expect when you attend the Tuscan Grand Prix:

Quick Facts – Mugello

Short History at Mugello

Built in 1973, Mugello is located in Scarperia e San Piero, Tuscany. The track is actually owned by Scuderia Ferrari and is used for their Formula One testing.

Believe it or not, the people in this area of Tuscany have done more than just drink a barrels of “vino”, chow down on pasta and enjoy the perfect weather.

There is a history of dramatic road racing around the streets of Mugello dating all the way back to the 1920s. The actual circuit has been hosting a mixture of Moto GP, Formula Libre, Sports Car events and is the home of the Italian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Why Travel to Mugello

It’s important to listen to Formula One legends when trying to determine whether or not a new circuit is going to be entertaining and competitive. Sebastian Vettel has said in the past that -“unfortunately we don’t have this track on the calendar. It’s an incredible circuit with a lot of high-speed corners”.

Well, good news Seb, you got your wish in 2020…

If you’ve ever been to Tuscany, you know that the terrain has a mixture of beautiful hills and farm land. Mugello is the ultimate roller coaster ride that will test the overall skill of a driver. Speed won’t be as important as there are limited straightaways.

Grand Stands and Hospitality

What is better than drinking amazing wine while watching Formula One action?

It shouldn’t take much convincing to go to the Tuscan Grand Prix. If held at Mugello in the future, it will be a top destination for F1 travelers. The recommended grandstand for all the action is on Turn One, as this is one of only a few opportunities for a driver to pass another driver.

With all the undulation, I have no doubt this will be the perfect spot for grandstands once spectators are allowed back into Formula One.

Food & Travel Options

Mugello is just a 50 minute drive from Florence, a magnificent city brimming with phenomenal museums, restaurants, historical sights and shops.

This is the perfect Formula One couples trip: World class wine, beautiful art, delicious food and F1 action.

As they say “a happy life is a happy wife”.

Book Your Trip

Mugello should be on everyone’s list when traveling to a Grand Prix. If you like wine and Formula 1, book your flight to Tuscany and head to Mugello.
